The First Qingdao Multinationals Summit

The first Qingdao Multinationals Summit (hereinafter referred to as “the Summit”), approved by the State Council, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Shandong Provincial People’s Government, will be held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China. The Summit is a VIP forum on cooperation with multinationals. At this event, leading multinational companies will have the opportunity to articulate their business values and vision, promote cooperation with host countries, and, in particular, explore ways to fully immerse themselves into the Chinese market and achieve win-win business success.

The first Summit will take place from October 19 to 20, 2019. With “Multinationals and China” as its theme, the forum aims to promote dialogue, cooperation and mutual benefit.

Foreign participants will include CEOs of Fortune Global 500   and industry leaders as well as heads of leading international economic organizations, eminent scholars from renowned overseas think tanks, foreign government representatives, foreign diplomats and consular officials in China and heads of well-known overseas business associations.

Chinese participants will include senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce and other relevant government ministries, provincial governments, cities with provincial status and autonomous regions and commerce departments of local governments. CEOs of leading Chinese companies and scholars from leading Chinese think tanks will also attend the Summit.

Events scheduled for the Summit will include an opening forum, forums on the development of multinational companies, forums on industrial development, closed-door meetings and other activities.

In-depth discussions will be held on the following subjects: new opportunities presented by China’ s new round of opening up, multinationals and WTO reform, multinationals and new economic growth drivers, creating an enabling environment for the development of both multinationals and SMEs, business opportunities presented by China’s Belt and Road Initiative,  prospects of sub-national business cooperation under the Japan-China-Republic of Korea Free Trade Agreement, multinationals and business environment, and the development trend of key industries.

Targeted business-client meetings and meetings for releasing business plans and products of multinationals will also be held at the Summit.

The Summit will, drawing on the views of forum participants, release the Declaration of Qingdao Multinationals Summit and Qingdao Multinationals Summit Initiative 2019.
