Agreements on 14 projects with a total investment of $910 million were signed at the event. One of the projects will be carried out in Binzhou.

The project was signed by Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group and Itochu Corporation, one of Japan's largest trading companies, and will include the production of lightweight automobile materials and aluminum deep processing products.

"Binzhou is an emerging industrial city. After years of development, it has formed high-end aluminum, home textile, and fine chemical industries, as well as other internationally influential industries valued at a trillion yuan or above," said She Chunming, Party secretary of Binzhou.

He said that since the beginning of this year, despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Binzhou's economy and society have maintained strong development momentum, with GDP, fixed asset investment, general public budget revenue and other major economic indicators continuing to grow.

"In recent years, Binzhou and Japan have enjoyed close economic ties and frequent personnel exchanges. Both sides enjoy huge potential in terms of strengthening cooperation," said She.

"We are ready to work with Japan to establish a more comprehensive cooperation mechanism so that we can both enjoy strong development, cooperation and win-win results."
