Lai Yongge: The Qingdao Multinationals Summit makes the door of China‘s opening-up open wider and wider
QINGDAO MULTINATIONALS SUMMIT | Updated:2019-11-01 13:11:16

From October 19 to 20, the first Qingdao Multinationals Summit was held in Qingdao International Convention Center. Nearly 38,000 people from more than 20 countries and regions attended this event, and more than 400 investment and financing institutions and enterprises from more than 10 countries conducted more than 600 groups of "one-to-one" negotiations.

China's development is inseparable from the investment of multinationals. During more than 40 years of reform and opening up, nearly one million foreign-invested enterprises and 2.1 trillion US dollars of foreign capital have brought advanced technology and equipment, rich management experience, high-quality products and services and leading innovative resources to China. Multinationals are important participants, witnesses and beneficiaries of China's reform and opening up. They are also important bridges between China and the world.

Lai Yongge, the vice president of TE Connectivity Ltd., suggested that the door of China's opening-up will open wider and wider. From the perspective of geographical environment, foreign-funded enterprises developed in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta when they first entered China. We are now seeing more investment by multinationals from the coastal areas to the inland areas. This is a reflection of China's reform and opening up.
