The Qingdao Multinationals Summit opened on October 19 in Qingdao, Shandong province. Shan Zhong, minister of Ministry of Commerce said in the opening speech that this Summit will build more platforms for cooperation between China and multinationals, helping China to push forward opening-up on a higher level. China firmly supports economic globalization and upholds multilateral trading system, and it is ready to work with multinationals from all over the world to push the economic globalization to the right direction.

Mr. Shan said, as China continues to opening up, its huge market will surely bring more new development opportunities for companies around the world, including multinationals. The Ministry of Commerce will stick to new development concepts and high-quality development, which will promote the implementation of various regulations, the Belt and Road initiatives and the construction of pilot free trade zone of high-quality to build a high-level platform for opening-up.

He also said that with the aim of attracting investment and drum up business, the Summit will organize parallel panels and over 30 roadshows hoping all guests could have in-depth exchanges and cooperation to reach common consensus and build pilot cities for opening-up.
