China vows to further open up, improve investment environment

Aug 20, vice minister Qian Keming said on the press conference that Some 490 of the world's 500 largest companies had investments in China. China will continue to move forward the reform of regulation and service, establish a high standard system for the liberalization and facilitation of investment and trade, continue to encourage the foreign investment, and provide a high-quality business environment for multinational companies and other foreign-funded enterprises.

【Qian Keming  vice-minister of the ministry of commerce】The next round of opening-up at a high level shall be fairer, more comprehensive and inclusive. Therefore, we should protect the legitimate rights and interests of foreign investors, and create a business environment in which all types of market entities are treated as equals and compete on a level playing field.

Statistics show that in 2018, China received $138.3 billion of foreign investment, ranking first among developing countries. The 2019 business environment report of World Bank also shows that China has made substantial progress in improving its business environment, rising from 78th to 46th.

In order to take the cooperation with multinational companies forward, the country is scheduled to host the first Qingdao Multinationals Summit on Oct 19 to 20 this year, discussing the opportunities presented by the new round of opening-up and new changes in the international economic environment.

Ren Airong, deputy governor of Shandong province: Some 188 executives of overseas enterprises from 26 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the summit.
