99.5% foreign-funded enterprises resume production in Yantai

Foreign-invested companies in Yantai, East China's Shandong province are gradually resuming production with support from the local government.

As of March 3, a total of 1,838 foreign companies had resumed work, a rate of 99.5 percent, ranking first in Shandong.

Local authorities have made significant efforts to help companies resume production. To help workers currently outside the city return to work, the Yantai government sent chartered buses to various different cities.

To date, the city has provided free chartered buses to 20 foreign companies and retrieved more than 2,100 workers.

Special funds were also offered by the local government to enterprises severely affected by the epidemic. More than 20 foreign companies received nearly two million yuan ($287,782.2) in subsidies.

The Yantai municipal bureau of commerce is also speeding up the innovation and promotion of cross-border approval and other mechanisms between China, Japan and South Korea to help foreign companies resume production.
