​Japanese diplomat calls for cooperation between Jinan, Japan

Jinan has attracted more investors thanks to its regional advantages, rich resources and sound business environment, according to Igawahara Masaru, consul-general of the Japanese consulate in Qingdao.

Igawahara made the comments on Nov 3 during an exchange conference on economic and trade cooperation between Jinan and Japan.

"I have deeply experienced the charm and vitality of Jinan, and by taking part in the conference, I have a better understanding of the long-term development plan of the city," Igawahara said.

Over the years, the two sides have maintained close economic, trade and cultural connections. Igawahara stated that he would increase efforts to deepen exchanges and strengthen trade, industry and cultural cooperation.

"We also hope to promote the culture of China and Japan, and especially deepen the close exchanges between Jinan and Japanese cities," said Igawahara.

He expressed hope that the two sides will take this meeting as an opportunity to strengthen communication and enhance mutual understanding.

"We will provide more platforms to enhance personnel exchanges and push for bilateral cooperation in such areas as finance and commerce, rural revitalization, life sciences, healthcare and tourism," Igawahara added.
