Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, hosted its city roadshow on Oct 20 during the 2019 Qingdao Multinationals Summit in search of more multinational cooperation.

Approximately 200 businesspeople, government officials and heads from Fortune 500 companies from around the world attended the event.

Jinan Mayor Su Shutao delivered a keynote speech and said that as the province's political, economic, cultural, research, education, and transportation center, Jinan is playing an increasingly significant role in global trade.

The city is working to optimize its regulations and the way it operates amid increasing economic globalization.

By offering more preferential policies and high-quality development resources, Jinan has attracted more multinational companies to invest in the city.

The Jinan government is also making efforts to create a strong business environment to promote more cooperation, Sun noted.

Accordingly, a total of 12 projects in industrial finance, high-end equipment, new energy, new materials and biotechnology were signed, including two headquarter projects for China Power Group and Foxconn.

The Jinan International Medical Center was also highlighted at the roadshow. Jinan was the first pilot city in China to build a national health and medical center.

Officials said the center will integrate medical services, technological research, biological medicine and rehabilitation care, aiming to build a large-scale health system that resembles the Houston Medical Center in the United States.
